Connect, learn, and engage in dynamic discussion

The latest strategic and tactical ideas to protect your business in a digital world was the focus of this year’s Cybersecurity Conference. Cybersecurity and other industry specialists shared the latest best practices and strategies organizations should be aware of – especially as cybersecurity incidents continue to rise. Topics included cybersecurity incident response, cybersecurity insurance, and cybersecurity legal considerations.

Here’s what our attendees learned:

  • A functioning incident response plan is essential. Did you know that organizations can cut the cost of a cyberattack by approximately 33% by having an incident response team in place, and with a plan that has been tested for validity? With the average cost of a breach at $4.62 million, that can add up to significant savings.

  • Third-party vendor relationships play a big role in keeping your organization safe. Some 94% of organizations are involved in a sourcing relationship, and unfortunately, 82% of companies give third-party vendors access to all of their data. Even worse, 90% of these companies are not aware that they've provided that level of clearance to their third-party vendors. Few small- to medium-sized businesses manage vendors effectively, and in order for vendor management to work well, protection needs to be comprehensive yet simple to execute. t.

  • Cybersecurity insurance is nuanced – and important. We’ll share the nuances of obtaining cybersecurity insurance, as well as discuss current trends relating to this form of insurance and experiencing a cybersecurity event.

  • Legal considerations should be top of mind, too. With industry experts stating that small- to medium-sized businesses have a 51% chance of experiencing a security breach in the next two years, it’s important to know legally how best to prepare and respond.
